General Questions

  • How many kilometers can I drive?
    To give you unlimited freedom, we've decided not to limit the kilometers you can drive.
  • Can I view the campers beforehand?
    We've uploaded detailed explainer videos for each vehicle on our website. These will give you a great overview of all the features and functions:

    You can also find all explainer videos compiled on our Help page. You're also welcome to visit one of our locations. Please make an appointment with us beforehand, as our vehicles are usually rented out and not every vehicle is available for viewing at all times.
  • Which countries can I travel to with my myvanture campervan?
    The rental vehicle may only be used in European Union countries, as well as Norway, England, Scotland, Ireland, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, and Switzerland.
  • Are the campers equipped with an environmental badge or an Austrian vignette?
    The Austrian vignette is included at all myvanture locations in Austria. Tolls, vignettes, and environmental badges abroad are not included and must be arranged by the renter.
  • What is the minimum age to rent a camper?
    Generally, anyone who is at least 18 years old can rent from us. However, please note that you must have held a Class B or 3 driver's license for at least 1 year to rent a campervan. The deductible is the same for all age groups.
  • Can I bring my dog?
    If you don't want to leave your loyal four-legged friend at home, you're welcome to bring them on your trip. However, preparing the camper after your rental takes more time, which is why the dog camper package must always be booked.
  • Are myvanture campervans suitable for families?
    Absolutely! A campervan holiday is the perfect adventure holiday for both little ones and adults. Our campers can accommodate families of up to 4 people. Our kitchens can be fully equipped upon request and are ready for a cozy family meal in the most beautiful natural settings.
  • Can I buy my camper?
    In addition to rentals, we also offer attractive purchase options. You can find new and hand-picked used Bullis at our sister brand The Bullishow, Europe's largest VW bus center.

  • What features do myvanture rental vehicles have?
    We see ourselves as a premium campervan rental company. All vehicles are configured with the same high-quality special equipment for you. No matter which of our locations you rent a camper from, you can be sure that you'll get the same vehicle in the same quality from us.
  • What are the dimensions of my vehicle?

    Please note, however, that due to mounted bike racks or similar, the vehicle may be longer. If you are booking a ferry or similar in advance, please always specify a vehicle length of 6 meters.

    Please note, however, that due to mounted bike racks or similar, the vehicle may be longer. If you are booking a ferry or similar in advance, please always specify a vehicle length of 7 meters for the Grand California.
  • What accessories can I book with myvanture?
    Our kitchen set includes a cookware set (pot, pasta strainer, pan, lid), cups, plates, cutlery, cooking spoon, ladle, salad bowl, wine opener, and many other helpful items for your perfect camping adventure. The kitchen set is free and can simply be added to your booking.
    Want to take your bike with you on your trip? Our bike racks offer space for up to 4 bikes or 2 e-bikes. We charge 7 Euros per night.
    ATTENTION: Maximum load 60 kg. Frame height 22-80 cm. Maximum 2 e-bikes. When opening the tailgate, make sure that the mounting arms are hooked onto the bike rack. Incorrect alignment can cause damage to the vehicle. The tailgate should generally not be opened when bicycles are mounted on the bike rack. It is not possible to drive through a car wash with the campervan with a bike rack mounted.
    Our bedding set includes a fitted sheet, a pillow, and a blanket including covers. The fee is 45 Euros per person. You may keep your bedding set after the rental.
    Do you need additional seating in addition to the two already included camping chairs? We are happy to provide you with additional camping chairs for your trip. Each chair costs a one-time fee of 9 Euros. An additional camping table is available for a one-time fee of 19 Euros. ATTENTION: Two camping chairs and a camping table are already included for free!

  • Can I use my child seat in the campervans?
    Of course, you can bring your child seat. Our campers are equipped with ISOFIX (Knaus Tourer Van models excluded). To be absolutely sure, you can send us an email at [email protected].
  • How many seats and berths do myvanture motorhomes offer?
    VW California Beach: 4–5 seats, 4 berths (2 double beds).
    VW T6.1 California Beach: 5 seats, 4 berths.
    VW California Ocean: 4 seats, 4 berths (with interior kitchen).
    VW T6.1 California Coast: 4 seats, 4 berths (with interior kitchen).
    VW Multivan 8-seater: 8 seats, travel and family vehicle without sleeping conversion.
    VW Grand California: 4 seats, 4 berths (2 adults + 2 children), with kitchen, bathroom, and toilet.
    Knaus Tourer Van: 4 seats, 4 berths (2 adults + 2 children), motorhome with wet room.

  • Which campers have a tow hitch?
    The VW T7 California Beach and the VW T7 California Ocean come standard with a tow hitch. For the VW Grand California, a tow hitch is only guaranteed if you also book the bike rack. The Knaus Van Wave does not have a tow hitch – but it does have a large rear garage where, for example, bicycles can be stored. Please note: not every location has models with a tow hitch. At the Bolzano location this season, the T6.1 models are without a tow hitch.
  • Which campers offer 5 seats?
    The VW T7 California Beach can optionally be booked with a 5th seat – this is free of charge when booking online. Please note: with 5 seats, the cool box is omitted as there is no longer space for it. All other camper models have 4 seats. If you need more seats, the VW Multivan, as a pure travel and family vehicle, is the only 8-seater in the fleet – but without a sleeping conversion.

Equipment & Technology

  • Do the campers have air conditioning or auxiliary heating?
    Our campers have air conditioning in the driver's area, which, like in a normal car, only works while driving. The vehicles do not have stationary air conditioning (air conditioning when parked). However, every camper has auxiliary heating installed, which keeps it cozy and warm even on cool nights. The only exception is the VW Multivan 8-seater: it is a travel and family vehicle without a camping conversion and therefore has no auxiliary heating.
  • How long can I stay self-sufficient without shore power?
    Based on experience, you can stay with the camper for 2–3 days without shore power – the camping battery recharges itself while driving via the alternator. Without shore power, 12V is available; for 230V (e.g., hairdryer or coffee machine), the camper must be connected to shore power. Tip: Set the refrigerator to level 1, as it consumes the most power.
  • What does the self-sufficiency package include?
    With the self-sufficiency package (one-time fee of €149), you can be independent of shore power for even longer. It includes a mobile solar panel with up to 135 W, a 555 Wh power bank with AC sockets up to 500 W output, and a solar shower. You receive the solar panel and can set it up yourself.
  • Are the campers suitable for winter camping?
    Yes. The VW Grand California and the Knaus Van Wave are particularly suitable for winter camping. Depending on the season and location, the vehicles are equipped with all-season or winter tires – however, we cannot guarantee winter tires. For trips to winter regions, we recommend the winter package; snow chains can be booked optionally upon request.

Deposit

  • Do I have to pay a deposit?
    Yes, a deposit of EUR 800 must be paid before the start of your trip. You pay the deposit during the online check-in 5 to 1 day before vehicle pickup. You will need a credit card to pay the deposit. We only reserve the amount and do not debit anything. Upon proper return of the rental vehicle, we will refund your deposit immediately. Depending on your credit card provider, this can take 1 to 5 business days.

Insurance, Damage, and Fines

  • How are myvanture campervans insured?
    All our vehicles are covered by comprehensive and liability insurance. Detailed information on insurance can be found in our General Terms and Conditions.
  • How high is the deductible?
    The deductible per claim is €2500. If you wish to reduce your deductible, you can book the Extension or Carefree package. The Extension package costs €19 / night and reduces your deductible to €1000, while the Carefree package costs €29 / night and reduces your deductible to €300.

  • What services are not included in the packages?
    Damage resulting from violence, negligence, or improper operation – especially damage to the interior, awning, or pop-top roof – is not limited by a maximum deductible. The renter must bear the full cost of repairing such damage.
  • What do I do in case of damage?
    Should an accident, breakdown, or technical defect occur during your trip, please inform us immediately. The myvanture Customer Care Team will support you personally during our service hours; in an emergency on the road, you can reach us 7 days a week via the emergency hotline.
    Please note that in the event of damage, we always require complete documentation (pictures, accident report) so that we can process your claim as quickly as possible.
    In addition to the deductible, a processing fee of €59 will be charged for handling each claim.
  • What happens if I get a parking ticket?
    All fines or penalties incurred during the rental period are to be borne by the renter. As a rule, you will receive the anonymous disposition directly from the authority, as we always provide the authority with driver information (main renter). This gives you the opportunity to object if necessary. In addition, we must charge you a processing fee of EUR 29.00 for our administrative effort.

Cancellations

  • What are the current cancellation conditions?
    If the renter withdraws their binding booking, the following cancellation conditions apply, depending on the time of the withdrawal declaration:
    For a withdrawal 0 to 48 hours before the agreed rental start, the full total rental price including extras is to be paid to myvanture. No refund or voucher will be issued.
    Standard:
    For a withdrawal between 48 hours and 30 days before the agreed rental start, the full total rental price including extras is to be paid to myvanture. For a withdrawal between 31 and 60 days, 50% of the total amount is to be paid to myvanture and 50% will be issued as a value voucher. Rebooking is only possible in exceptional cases.
    Flex:
    If the renter has chosen a paid Flex option at the time of booking and withdraws between 48 hours and 60 days before the agreed rental start, the cancellation is free of charge and the renter receives a cancellation voucher for the total amount (redeemable one year from issue) or can rebook the total rental price once for another period with a rental start within the next 60 days.
    For a withdrawal at least 60 days before the agreed rental start, the cancellation is free of charge and the renter receives a refund of all payments made so far. If the renter has paid the rental price in whole or in part with a cancellation voucher or gift voucher, they will receive a cancellation voucher equal to the value of the voucher paid in.
    Please note that in the event of a cancellation or rebooking, the amount paid for the Flex package will not be refunded.
  • Can I cancel accessories I've already booked?
    Of course, you can cancel accessories you've already booked. However, please note that we unfortunately cannot refund your costs, as we purchase and pre-finance the accessories in advance.

Online Booking & Payment

  • Is there a minimum rental period?
    Our minimum rental period is one night. Please note that you must book at least 2 days before your trip. If you still wish to book at short notice, you are welcome to contact our Customer Care Team. We always try to find a suitable solution for you.
  • When do I have to pay for my myvanture booking?
    A 50% down payment is due upon booking. The remaining 50% must be paid no later than 30 days before the start of your trip.
    If the booking is made less than 30 days before the start of the trip, the entire amount is due immediately upon booking.
  • How can I pay?
    We accept payments with Visa, Master Card, and bank transfer. You can transfer the amount using various payment methods such as credit card, PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay, Google Pay, EPS, and giropay.
  • How can I change my booking?
    If you wish to rebook, extend, or cancel your booking, please contact us in writing by email at [email protected].
  • How much does it cost to rent a myvanture campervan?

Pickup and Return

  • How do I need to return my myvanture camper?
    Please return your camper in the same condition you received it from us. Here's a quick checklist for you:
    - Exterior – washed, insects removed (ATTENTION: Do not use automatic car washes)
    - Interior cleaned – vacuumed, wiped, waste removed
    - Waste water & fresh water tank – emptied
    - Toilet – cleaned and emptied
    - Accessories – complete & cleaned
    - Fuel tank – full
    Additional cleaning fees may apply for the return of a heavily soiled vehicle or for non-compliance with prohibitions (e.g., smoking in the vehicle).
    Upon return, you hand over the vehicle to our employee at the agreed time, who will briefly check the vehicle for damage and completeness of the equipment. After a few minutes, everything is done for you.
  • Can I drop off my myvanture campervan at a different location?
    As a rule, you return the camper to the station where you picked it up. An exception is our One-Way Challenge – a special promotion, usually before or after the main season, where you can drop off the camper at a different station and receive a reduced rental price for it. Routes and periods vary, just write to us at [email protected]. You can find all our locations here.
  • When can I pick up or return my camper?
    The opening hours of our pickup stations vary – you can find the exact opening hours in the Rental Stations section or the Booking section. If you wish to pick up or return your camper outside normal hours, you can book Early Check-in or Late Check-out (each €49).
  • How does the pickup of my camper work?
    We ask you to arrive punctually at the location at the agreed pickup time. There, an employee will go through the vehicle documentation with you and handle the contract formalities. Once this is completed, you are ready for your trip.
  • Do I get an on-site briefing?
    With us, you no longer have to wait long at the location before you can finally get started. The vehicle briefing takes place digitally during the online check-in. This way, you can learn everything about your camper comfortably from your couch.
    Our explainer videos give you a detailed insight into the various functions and features of the vehicles. We also provide you with many professional tips and assistance.
    This way, you can familiarize yourself with the camper in advance. Of course, you can also contact us at any time if you have questions about one of our models. Our Customer Care Team is personally available for you during our service hours. If you have a specific question on site, you can of course ask the employee there.
  • Can I park my private car at the location?
    You can park your private car at the location during your rental – simply book your parking space. In rare cases, there may be no parking space available – in this case, you will find plenty of free public parking spaces near the location.
  • Can I pick up or return my camper on Sundays and public holidays?
    Our rental stations are closed on Sundays and public holidays. You can find the exact pickup and return times here.
  • How do I need to clean my myvanture campervan?
    You will receive a perfectly clean campervan from us, meaning every vehicle is thoroughly vacuumed, wiped, and prepared. We expect to receive our campervan back in the same condition. If this is not the case, we unfortunately have to deduct the cleaning costs from your deposit according to our General Terms and Conditions.
  • Am I allowed to drive the camper to a festival?
    Please do not drive our camper to festivals, as severe contamination and damage by third parties often occur there.
  • Are toilet chemicals and toilet paper provided?
    Yes. Chemicals and toilet paper for the chemical toilet are provided at handover. If the special toilet paper runs out during your trip, please get refills for the chemical toilet from a camping supply store – we will reimburse you for the cost of subsequently purchased items upon presentation of the receipt.

Prices and Services

  • What services are not included in the rental price?
    The Austrian vignette as well as tolls and environmental badges abroad are not included.
    You will receive a fully fueled vehicle (diesel and AdBlue) from us, and we would like to receive the vehicle back in the same condition. If oil or anything else needs to be refilled during your rental, you must immediately ensure that the fluids are refilled at your own expense.
  • Is there an additional service fee on top of the rental price?
    Yes. In addition to the rental price, a one-time service fee applies: €129 for our campervans (VW California) and €159 for our motorhomes (VW Grand California, Knaus Tourer Van, Knaus Van Wave). It will be automatically displayed during the booking process.
  • How much does the dog camper service cost?
    If your dog is traveling with you, the dog camper service is mandatory – it includes professional final cleaning after dog use. It costs €99 for the VW California series (Beach, Coast, Ocean) and €109 for VW Grand California, Knaus Tourer Van, and Knaus Van Wave.
  • What does interior cleaning cost if I don't want to do it myself?
    You generally return the camper cleaned inside and out. If you don't want to do the interior cleaning yourself, you can book the interior cleaning service: €149 for campervans and €199 for motorhomes. Then you only return the camper swept clean – exterior rinsed, tanks emptied, and toilet cleaned.
