Detailed accessory walkthrough & how-to guides
Six steps, in order.
Observe the legal requirements of the country you are in — hazard lights and a high-visibility vest are compulsory in most countries.
- 01
Secure the accident scene
Switch on hazard lights and put on high-visibility vests. You'll find vests, a warning triangle and a first-aid kit in the drawer under the rear seat or in the front door pocket. Warning triangle distances: 250 m on motorways, 150 m on rural roads, 50 m in built-up areas.
- 02
Move passengers out of the danger zone
Once the accident scene is secured, bring all passengers to safety off the carriageway (on a motorway, for example, behind the crash barrier).
- 03
If there are injuries: first aid + emergency call
Carry out life-saving measures and alert emergency services and police. On motorways, arrows on the delineator posts indicate the nearest emergency call box.
- 04
Fill in the accident report
Exchange vehicle documents with the other party and fill in the European Accident Statement together (this is not an admission of fault, just a record of what happened).
- 05
Secure evidence
Photograph the accident scene and the vehicles. Note the names and addresses of witnesses.
- 06
Notify myvanture
Once everything is documented: contact myvanture — we'll take care of the further process (damage report, workshop, mobility guarantee).
Secure first. Then call.
- 01
Secure the vehicle
Switch on hazard lights, put on your high-visibility vest, set up the warning triangle (same distances as for an accident). Move passengers out of the danger zone.
- 02
Call myvanture
In case of breakdown, flat battery, technical problems, puncture or parking damage, contact myvanture first — we'll help by phone and arrange everything else.
- 03
Use the VW Mobility Guarantee
The VW Mobility Guarantee covers roadside assistance, towing, vehicle recovery, spare parts and replacement mobility across Europe. Punctures: the VW emergency line will connect you with the breakdown service. A spare tyre or repair kit is in the vehicle.
