Your Road Trip Checklist: For Camping Beginners and Pros

Planning a camping trip can be stressful, especially when you're not sure what to pack. We've put together this list of essentials every traveler should have for their camping vacation. Whether you're traveling with just your partner or with the whole family, this road trip checklist covers all the must-haves.

Essential Camping Gear

For the VW Grand California, we include a second gas bottle; for the VW Coast, one gas bottle. Power adapters and extension cables for the 230V power supply (e.g., at a campsite), as well as a shovel and broom, are already in the small accessory box. The camping table is stored in the side door of the VW Coast, VW Beach, and VW Multivan. In the VW Grand California, the table is already in the middle of the vehicle, and the camping chairs are in the tailgate. For the VW California campervans, the two camping chairs are in the tailgate.

A doormat or rug, as well as leveling ramps, are not included in the standard set, but we recommend them for your camping trip.
